{an evening party or gathering, typically in a private house, for conversation or music.}
Warm fuzzy light emits from inside
A crackling fireplace and a fluffy rug
Close enough to touch in a crowded room
Tall windows, condensation
Wine like water
The glowing moon
The latest collection from Baaby is whimsical and enchanted, featuring trasseasonal pieces that can be transformed for any occasion. Long silk ruffles, organic fibres, and matching pantsuits are the theme.
Baaby’s commitment to sustainability is evident in this collection, appearing in the form of deadstock fabrics which would otherwise become landfill, and favouring more environmentally friendly natural fibre fabrics such as silk, linen and organic cotton. Every garment is ethically made in Melbourne in small factory runs to minimise over producing, with a few special designs available as made-to-order only.
Soirée is now available for purchase at Baaby.com.au
Made-to-order means the garment is individually cut out and sewn by hand in our Melbourne studio or by our local dressmaker. It eliminates the issue of wasted garments, minimises fabric waste and ensures no over-ordered garments which so often end up contributing to the ever growing problem of fashion landfill.
By adopting a made-to-order approach for selected styles we not only reduce our environmental impact, but also ensure that every piece is crafted with precision and care, created exclusively for you.
If you have a custom size or custom colour request please email us and we will do our best to accommodate.

DEADSTOCK FABRIC
Deadstock
fabrics are unwanted fabrics, which come from places like closed factories and
manufacturers, or big brands that order too much or the wrong colour or type of
fabric for what they wanted. It is typically deemed a waste product in the
fashion industry and would otherwise end up in landfill.
We
purchase deadstock fabric either straight from the source or from local Australian
retailers who specialise in this type of material. We see deadstock fabric as a
good way to upcycle perfectly good materials and help minimise waste.
